Respectable Dating in Your 50s!

Dating in your 50s has become much more common today. Higher divorce rates and many people choosing not to get married mean that there are more men and women available for dating in their 50s and above.

Todays 50 somethings are a world away from their parents generation at that age. Women look decades younger and have more energy. They don’t dress or act like women in their 50s did in past generations.

Dating in your 50s can be just as exciting as it did in your teens and twenties but you may find that many in this age group have the responsibility of Elderly parents, children and grandchildren that younger people don’t have.

Women shouldn’t be afraid of dating men younger than themselves. The old idea that it’s acceptable for a man to date a younger women should also now apply to women in their 50s dating younger men.

Not only do they looks years younger but they are also often financially independent and don’t need the security of an older man to look after them.

Many women in their 50s have plenty of energy and vibrancy. They have no intention of slowing down and have just as much sex drive and sensuality as they did in their younger days.

Tips about dating in your 50s include similar cautions as would apply to younger people dating. Be careful on your first date with someone and meet in a public place. Don’t accept a lift or go back to their house until you know them a bit better.

Don’t give out your home phone number or address to someone you have only just met as you don’t want unexpected guests turning up on your doorstep or making nuisance phone calls!

Other tips about dating in your 50s include Joining local clubs where you will meet new people who share the same interests such as yoga, art, drama or dancing. Do some voluntary work, you will be doing some good as well as meeting new people.

If you like travelling but don’t like going alone why not go on a singles holiday. You can visit lots of interesting new places as well as make new friends. Online dating for seniors has become very popular and you will find a wide range of potential dates. The advantage of this is that you can view member’s profiles before deciding who to make contact with.

When you create your own profile don’t lie about your age or upload a photo of you that was taken over 10 years ago! You won’t do yourself any favours and anyway you shouldn’t have to lie about your age to anyone. Be proud of who you are no matter what your age is, after all experience of life and wisdom come with age!
